November 11th, 2008: The Obligatory Concession Speech
It has been an INCREDIBLY busy week for me since the election, and I'm only now getting a chance to sit down and write this.
First, my congratulations and best wishes to Mr. Mike Conaway. Sir, you won, fair and square, according to the rules, and it is a good thing for all of us that we can do it that way. Also, thank you for the campaigning lesson. Your comment, "You run unopposed or you run scared" will stay with me. I wish you the best in Washington and at home in the district for the next two years.
Second, my deepest possible thanks to the 25,000 or so of you who had enough confidence in me to cast your vote for me. I was shocked, awed, amazed, you name it. I ask all of you now to work with Mr. Conaway as you would have worked with me. In particular, keep in touch with him. Make sure he knows how you feel on all of the issues.
Third, my thanks to each and every one of the various members of the media - journalists, editors, radio announcers and TV anchors - who interviewed me during the campaign. You helped me learn more about what it is to be a candidate, especially the need to be able to think and speak clearly the first time out, as there's usually no chance to do a rewrite.
Very special thanks to my brother, James Arthur Strohm, who put me up to running for Congress in the first place, and who actually gave Lamar Smith in Texas Congressional District 21 an honest run for his money. More thanks go to Bob Mosley III, my webmaster and longtime friend, for his work in setting up this website on such short notice.
Finally: A few people have asked me if I intend to run again. It is too early for me to answer that one. I haven't ruled out the possibility, but I think I need to be living and working in the district in which I run, when and if I do.
November 1st, 2008: Food For Thought...
"You have to pinch yourself - a Marxist radical who all his life has been mentored by, sat at the feet of, worshiped with, befriended, endorsed the philosophy of, funded and been in turn funded, politically promoted and supported by a nexus comprising black power anti-white racists, Jew-haters, revolutionary Marxists, unrepentant former terrorists and Chicago mobsters, is on the verge of becoming President of the United States. And apparently it's considered impolite to say so."

October 30th, 2008: About That Bailout...
An interesting paper just crawled through my inbasket: Facts and Myths about the Financial Crisis of 2008
The authors examine four arguments being used to justify the bailout, using Federal Reserve Bank data, current up to October 8th, 2008. The data appears to show that all four claims are bogus.
